Jim Childers was appointed to the position of Magistrate of Greenbrier County to fill the term when Magistrate Brenda Campbell retired. The appointment was made by the Honorable James J. Rowe
Jim brings over 30 years of experience with the WV State Code and the court system. He also has a degree in criminal justice.
“I care deeply about the people of Greenbrier County and recognize this position is very important to the lives of county residents. Serving the people with fairness, integrity and respect are my core values. I am prepared to deal with domestic violence cases, which often involves drugs and or alcohol in a wise and fair-minded manner, said Childers. “Those who come before Jim Childers will be treated with respect and full knowledge of the charges they are facing. I am very thankful for the confidence placed in me by the Chief Judge and I promise to work diligently to preform the serious duties this position demands. I have served the people of Greenbrier County for decades: as a member of the WV State Police, the Department of Highways and as your Sheriff,” he said.
The election for Magistrate’s only takes place in May and Childers’ name will appear on the non-partisan ticket. “Your support will be greatly appreciated. Please ask your family, friends and neighbors to consider voting for Jim Childers. I will not disappoint you,” he said.
