Matt Detch filed for candidacy on Thursday, Jan. 21, at West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant’s Office in Charleston.
Detch is running for the United States House of Representatives in West Virginia’s 3rd District. He will be filing as a Democrat.
Detch is a proud West Virginia native hailing from Greenbrier County. He is a former United States Secret Service officer who served under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Detch has a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Missouri State University and a Master of Arts in International Criminology from the University of Greenwich in London, England. He currently manages a small business in his hometown of Lewisburg.
