Members of Cub Scouts Pack 122 toured the Lewisburg Police Department on Preston Blvd. on Nov. 30. The group consisted of Bear Cubs (third graders), Tiger Cubs (first graders), and some sisters, cousins and parents. The outing was a requirement for the Bear Cubs and is part of learning how to stay safe.

The Scouts learned some things that law enforcement officers do to keep our community safe, how they collect evidence of crimes (especially fun was learning about how they dust for fingerprints), and how to get help in an emergency. They got to see bulletproof vests, a crime scene kit, the detainee interview room, a battering ram, handcuffs, police “wear,” the police car, Chief Tim Stover’s police patch collections (from police departments all over the U.S.), the offices, etc. The kids had a great time and I would say it was one of the highlights of the year! Stover and D.C. Teubert were great with the kids and were great ambassadors for the profession.
