Saturday, November 2nd- Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity will be hosting an Art Show and Auction at their office in White Sulphur Springs. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help AHHFH reach its goal of opening a ReStore on Earth Day, 2014. All art submitted must be turned into the ReStore by October 25, and will be on display from October 26 – November 2.
ANYONE in ALL age groups are invited to participate. Professionals will have a separate category and awards representing different categories will be given out before the Auction. Pieces submitted for the show must be for sale and must have a salvage component. This may include recycled or reused materials (does not have to be made of all salvage materials). The auction will begin at 7pm and light refreshments will be provided.
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are non-profit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat for Humanity ReStores are proudly owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity affiliates, like Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity, and proceeds are used to build homes, community, and hope. The mission of the ReStore is to provide additional funding to support the affiliate’s house-building goals, expand opportunities to serve a broader base of the low-income community by providing low-cost materials, and divert construction and household materials from landfills and protect the environment.
