Upcoming events and highlights
Greenbrier East High School hosted THE GREENBRIER DUALS Tournament this past Saturday. The Wrestlers beat Covington, Va. (78-6), Harrisonburg, VA (52-27), Roanoke Catholic, VA (53-29) and Shady Spring (39-35). After winning our first four matches we lost to Staunton River, VA in the finals to place second. Again, it was a very tough tournament and the team continues to improve. Jasiel Kinder, Jacob Hefner and Logan Evans all finished the day undefeated by going 5-0. A big Thank-You goes out to all the people who made the tournament such a huge success. I was overwhelmed by all the compliments from the other teams for our hospitality. Thank you everyone!
Our Top 5 wrestlers with the most wins this season so far are Logan Evans (11), Jacob Hefner (11), Aaron Davis (10), Jasiel Kinder (9) and Levi Hobbs (8). Our team record is 9-3 and we are currently ranked No. 9 in the state.
This week we will travel to Charmco to compete in the Lindsey Raines Duals at Greenbrier West on Tuesday, Dec. 29. There will be 10 teams and we will wrestle five of them.

E.G.M.S. UPDATE: The Eastern Greenbrier Middle School Wrestlers had the opportunity to wrestle in front of the whole student body. It was GREAT. The crowd was excited and very loud. The team lost to a very good Western Greenbrier team; however, the atmosphere at the school was tremendous. Thank you Dr. Modlin!
MILUK HUMOR: A friend of mine is a Schizophrenic bookkeeper. She keeps telling me that she hears invoices all the time. (Ha!)

TRIVIA ANSWER: Greenbrier East had 2 State Place-winners in 2014. Josiah Solak took 4th place and Jasiel Kinder took 6th place. We are hoping that this becomes the new minimum standard for us.
