Columbia Station, OH-William “Bill” K. Wood, 82, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Southwest General Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1933, in Caldwell, he was the son of the late William A. Wood and Etta Mae Gillispie Wood.
William was a retired machine operator at GM and an Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War.
Other than his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother, Harold Lee Wood.
William was a coach for Peewee football, Little League Baseball, enjoyed boxing, fishing, camping and sports. He was an all-around handyman.
Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Shirley Morgan Wood; daughters, Debbie Wood-Vetter (Bill) and Tammy Wood-Allen (Joe) of Wilmington, OH; sons, Ricky A. Wood of Wilmington, Wayne Wood of Columbia Station, Jerry Wood of DE, and Danny Wood (Jennifer) of Wilmington, OH; 13 grandchildren; five great-grand children; brother, Harmon B. Wood; and brother-in-law, Denny Morgan of Elyria, OH.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 14, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte officiated by Walter Wood. Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, with Military Honors.
