Juanita Elizabeth Allen Reed Rookstool

Juanita Elizabeth Allen Reed Rookstool, age 93, of Alderson, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, W.Va., following a long illness.
Born August 25, 1922 at Judson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Carlos K. and Della Forrest Meadows Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Franklin Reed; her second husband, Russell Rookstool; a son, Roger Reese Reed; a sister, Gertrude Dillon; and three brothers, Carlos K. Allen, Jr., and two infant brothers.
Mrs. Rookstool was a homemaker and a member of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va., where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Tri County Memorial VFW Post 6723, Alderson, W.Va. Mrs. Rookstool loved the color pink, loved seafood, and loved flowers and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include two sons, James Reed and his wife, Hazel, of Clintonville, W.Va., and Gary Reed and his wife, Carol, of Alderson, W.Va.; two daughters, Sharon Reed of Alderson, W.Va., and Sandy Burnett and her husband, Dave, of Clintonville, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one sister, Ruth Eslinger of Alderson, W.Va.; two special stepsons, Benny Rookstool of Crawley, W.Va., and Larry Rookstool and his wife, Juanita, of Nexn, Mo.; several other stepchildren and step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va. with the Rev. Dr. Bill Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, W.Va. Friends may call Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va.
The men of Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va., will serve as pallbearers.
For those considering an expression of sympathy, donations in Mrs. Rookstool’s memory may be made to the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, P.O. Box 456, Alderson, WV 24910.
