The Lewisburg Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)4 corporation, announces that its annual fund drive will begin on or around Oct. 5. Donations received are used to supplement the City of Lewisburg Volunteer Fire Department’s operating budget.
The Lewisburg VFD has requested the LVFC to seek funding for the replacement of a 1980 Pumper/Tanker apparatus used primarily for incidents within the rural areas of the Lewisburg Fire District. The Lewisburg VFD has received requests for proposal for a Pumper/Tanker apparatus from various apparatus manufactures, with the lowest bid being $226,904.
With the continued increase in operating costs of the fire service, equipment, apparatus and the failure of the Fire Levy in March of 2013 the Lewisburg Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. is requesting that all property owners within the Lewisburg Fire District contribute to this year’s annual fund drive. The LVFC mails 2,851 requests, if all property owners would contribute $80, the LVFC would be able to raise $228,080 for this year’s request by the LVFD.
“Remember you can call on us at anytime and we will be there to help you, so please help us help you by giving generously to this year’s annual fund drive,” said Wayne Pennington, Fire Chief – LVFD.
