It’s time to get ready for the holidays. To celebrate the coming season, a Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. in the Center Green Space in downtown Lewisburg. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. The Carnegie Children’s Choir and the John Wesley Choir will be present to sing Christmas carols after the tree is lit. The tree lighting event is sponsored by the Lewisburg in Bloom Committee.
The committee is also sponsoring the Window Decorating Contest again this year, states contact person Shannon Beatty. All downtown business owners are invited to participate in the “Illuminate Lewisburg” Holiday Lighting and Decorating Contest. This year there is no set theme, and Beatty urges participants to “let your creativity be your guide.” For entry forms, contact Beatty at 304-645-2080. Deadline to participate is Friday, Nov. 16. Judging will take place Friday, Nov. 20, and winners will be announced the following day.
