The Union High School Graduating Class of 1959 held a 56-year reunion at the home of Bob and Andi Allen on Sept. 26, 2015, with 15 members present: Bob Allen and wife Andi, Madeline Canterbury Ballard and husband John, Dale Beckett, George Bostic and wife Robin, Bonnye Butcher Carroll, Barbara Hankins Deskins and husband Russell, Jim Erskine, Winfred Kirby, Rachel Dunbar LaFon, Bonnie Nichols Parker and husband Elwood, Nancy Ratliff, Jerry Reed and wife Inga, Margaret Judy Sams, Marcella Carter Smith and daughter Michelle, and Martha Peterson Windon and husband Harold.
The class took time to remember the loss of their 20 deceased classmates. They also honored the military veterans who were present, Bob Allen, Jim Erskine, Winfred Kirby, Jerry Reed, Russell Deskins, and John Ballard, and thanked them for their service.
