Greenbrier River Rollers will host their season closer at the State Fairgrounds Saturday night.

The Greenbrier River Rollers’ Vixens are drawing near the end of their fourth year of women’s roller derby competition as they host their upcoming 2015 season closer. On Saturday, Sept. 26, Greenbrier will take on Greensboro Roller Derby’s Counter Strike of Greensboro, NC, in a first-time meeting between these two teams. Greenbrier enters this game with a season record of 5-1 after facing teams from West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.
Tickets are available at the door, with kids 5 and under free, for this family friendly event. Bleacher seating is limited but you are encouraged to bring your own chair and sit trackside. Concessions will be provided by When Pigs Fly BBQ and Almost Heaven Sunset Slush.
Greenbrier River Rollers, a 501(c)(4) organization, routinely support local charities and have selected the Greenbrier Humane Society to receive a portion of the proceeds from this upcoming bout.
Come out to the West Virginia Building at the State Fairgrounds in Fairlea on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. to see hard-hitting roller derby and support the Greenbrier Humane Society. Following the game, join the team at the Asylum Bar and Grill for the afterparty. For more information about joining the Greenbrier River Rollers, go to www.GreenbrierRollerVixens.com.
