On Aug. 29, athletes from CrossFit Esprit and Greenbrier Valley Fitness in Lewisburg competed in the 2015 West Virginia CrossFit Championship held in Charleston.
During the month of August, hundreds of athletes of all ages from the mountain state competed in an online competition consisting of four uniquely challenging workouts. Upon completion of the online portion, the top athletes in each division were invited to the on-site championship, hosted by CrossFit West Virginia.
CrossFit Esprit produced 22 athletes for the online portion and seven were invited to the onsite championship in Charleston. Of the seven that competed in the championship, five earned podium finishes: Phoebe McGuire – 2nd place women’s masters elite; Scott McGuire – 1st place men’s masters elite; Sherry Hawver – 3rd place women’s masters; Elise McClintic – 2nd place women’s open; Cory Mann – 2nd place men’s open.
