The Greenbrier County 911 is building a list of livestock producers, their telephone numbers and the location of their livestock. This call list will be used in the event livestock is found on public roads.
Greenbrier County has the largest number of beef cattle in the state along with several dairy, sheep, goat and swine. Agriculture is an important part of our economy and farmers are one of our largest groups of tax payers. Livestock on public roads presents a dangerous situation for unsuspecting motorists, especially after dark. Having a list of people that are willing to assist will hopefully prevent an accident and get livestock safely back to their owner.
To add your name and information to the list, contact Donna Hinkle at the Greenbrier County 911 center at 304-647-7911 or the Greenbrier County Commission office at 304-647-6689 ext. 0.
