Winter clothes at Williamsburg Thrift Shop

Cold weather is approaching rapidly. Visit our thrift shop for warm clothes. Dollar bag sale: All you can put in a plastic grocery bag for $1. Store hours are Fridays, 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The thrift shop will close for the winter on Oct. 31. The thrift shop is operated by the Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. Greenbrier County Health Department
will be unable to administer any vaccines or TB Skin tests until further notice. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Greenbrier Recycling
on Monroe Avenue in Ronceverte is currently taking hardback books for recycling. Hardback books must be brought in Monday through Friday during business hours 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no after hour drop-offs for hardback books at this time.
AHMH’s September/October schedule
American Heritage Music Hall at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte is a nonprofit organization (Ref. IRS 501(c)3) and handicapped accessible. No alcohol and no smoking. All music nights schedule: door opens at 6 p.m., music starts at 7 to 10:30. Break at 8 p.m. for announcements and food. Last Friday Bluegrass Supper
Wellspring of Greenbrier, Inc. invites the community to Last Friday Bluegrass Supper on Friday, Sept. 25, from 6-9 p.m. at the Wellspring Center, Rupert, Rt. 60, next to the City Hall. It’s free! It’s fun! it’s fab! Please bring a favorite veggie dish to share. It’s a community event. Everyone is invited. Wellspring of Greenbrier Inc., is an all volunteer nonprofit organization assisting people in Greenbrier County since 2004 who are homeless, poor, working poor, transient, or disadvantaged.
Cranberry Mountain Shindig
a celebration of Appalachian culture, will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cranberry Mountain Nature Center. The center is located at the junction of Rts. 39/55 and Rt. 150 (Scenic Highway), 22 miles east of Richwood and 16 miles west of Marlinton. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy the music on the lawn and bring a lunch or enjoy a hot dog, brown beans and cornbread, maple cotton candy or kettle corn. Over 40 crafters will be selling and demonstrating traditional crafts. For more information, call Cranberry Mountain Nature Center at 304-653-4826 during their normal business hours, Thursday-Monday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
AA meetings
are held at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon.
NarAnon meetings
are held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg. NarAnon is a 12-step support group for persons effected by someone else’s addiction. Call Susan at 304-646-6506 for more information.
The Bluefield Princeton area
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group
meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fees to join. We’re into our 28th year as a group. Please come, you’ll find us a caring and encouraging group. For more information call Doug Mullins, group leader, at 304-753-9126.
