Ronceverte-Carolyn Kirby Baker passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, 2015, at The Brier in Ronceverte after a long illness.
Born Feb. 19, 1930, in Fort Spring, she was the daughter of the late Paul Alexander and Mamie Marie Deem Kirby.
She was a member of the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church and retired from Greenbrier Valley Hospital.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoochie Baker and brother, Jack Kirby.
Carolyn is survived by: her sons, Ronnie (Sharon), Kenny (Connie), David “Crock” (Pam) and Darrell (Ruby) Baker, all of Ronceverte and her daughters, Kay (Rick) Bennett of Ronceverte and GeeGee (Stuart) Roberts of Renick; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Basil Baker and wife Faye of Ronceverte.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Rome in Ronceverte, with Rev. Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery at Ronceverte.
The family will receive friends 10 until 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Ronceverte. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
