The Organ Cave CEOS met recently for their reorganizational meeting in preparation for the 2016 club year. The club organized with the following officers elected for 2016: President – Janet Johnson; Co-Vice President – Hilda White and Cathy Queen; Secretary – Layola Sarver; Reporter – Sandy Perry; Meditations – Hilda White and Kathy Queen; and Telephone Committee – Sue McCormick. Committee Chairman are: Continuing Education – Carolyn Rodgers; Family – Sue McCormick; Marketing/Membership – Hilda White and Cathy Queen; Health Motivator – Sandy Perry; and Purposeful Reading – Layola Sarver.
The following Lessons, Leaders, and Hostesses were chosen: Jan. 18 – Why be Sad! How to Beat the Winter Blues, Janet Johnson leader and hostess; Feb. 15 – Valentine’s Day Party and Mar. 21, – Book Reviews with all members participating; Apr. 18 – Healthy Eating for a Healthy Lifestyle, Kay Davis, extension agent, lesson leader; May 16 – 4-H Program, Carolyn Rodgers, leader, joined by Organ Cave 4-H members; June 20 – Happy Birthday West Virginia, Sandy Perry, leader and hostess; July 5 – Annual Picnic with 4-H Club; Aug. 8 – Reorganization, Sept. 19 – An Apple a Day, Cathy Queen leader and hostess; Oct. 17 – Pretty as a Pumpkin!, Sandy Perry, leader and hostess with Carolyn Rodgers; Nov. 14 – Craft Workshop, leaders Layola Sarver and Sandy Perry; Dec. 6 – Visit at Brier Nursing Home with Organ Cave 4-H’ers; Dec. 12 – Christmas Get Together and cookie exchange with hostess to be chosen later.
Organ Cave CEOS has the distinction of being the oldest club in Greenbrier County, has had a successful 2015 club year, and is looking forward to new programs and activities in 2016.
