Ronceverte-Ada Maxine Shires Shires Bell, 94, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea.
Born Mar. 4, 1921, in Zenith, WV, Maxine was a daughter of the late Lonnie L. and Ada M. Shires.
She was a lifelong resident of Greenbrier and Monroe counties and was retired from ABB in Lewisburg. She was a member of Crimson Spring Church and attended the Ronceverte Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl N. Shires and Roy Bell: her sister, Christine Kirk; two brothers, Joe Roscoe and Harold N. Shires; two children, Gladys S. McCormick and Jarrell Shires: four step-children, Kyle B. Shires, Elwood Shires, Edna Liberatore and Alvin Shires: and two grandchildren, Kyle B. Shires, Jr. and Teresa (Tracy) Biggs.
Survivors include: son, Don (Jean) Shires of Orlando, FL; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Thursday evening, Aug. 27, at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Dr. Andy Howdock officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Cemetery.
