Every year Greenbrier County 4-H sends their best to compete in visual presentations, public speaking, digital presentations, and even try his or her hand at reciting the 4-H Creed during State 4-H Days in Morgantown. This year three blue Ribbon winners from the county’s visual presentation contest went on to showcase their skills at the state level. Mary “Chris” Scronce attended State 4-H Days again this year, and came home with the highest honor, a gold ribbon, in her category. Scronce’s presentation on the history of moving Cape Hatteras lighthouse earned the highest marks in the entire “miscellaneous” category. Josi Ervin, a first year visual presentation contestant, produced her “Ewe First” presentation in the small animal category. Her efforts brought home a blue ribbon. Presenting in the Large Animal category, Cohen Gibson also brought home a blue ribbon for his “Grain and Hay Keeps the Vet Away” presentation. Through learning and mastering a life skill, Chris, Josi, and Cohen represented Greenbrier County 4-H well and exhibited the 4-H motto, “To make the Best Better.”
