Local Greenbrier County natives James and Beth Baker, preparing for full-time Christian missionary work, will speak this Sunday morning, June 28, in the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Greenbrier Valley Church of the Nazarene in Fairlea.
The couple are currently taking classes at New Tribes Bible Institute in Jackson, MI, in preparation for ministry with New Tribes Mission. The group’s purpose is to reach various tribes throughout the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, particularly those who have had little or no exposure to the gospel, and to establish growing churches in those areas.
The Bakers have two daughters: Lily, 3; and Grace, 1. Both James and Beth are graduates of Greenbrier East High School. James is a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington. Beth is a graduate of Fairmont University in Fairmont and Marshall University. James and Beth taught in Cabell County public schools before moving to Michigan recently to begin training.
