Beverly Arbuckle
Beverly Arbuckle passed away on Friday, Mar. 6, 2015.
She was born Jan. 18, 1949, in Marlinton, to parents Mary E. Arbogast Galford and Harper Hudson Galford.
She was raised in Green Bank, graduating from Green Bank High School in 1966. In preparation for her teaching career she earned her B.S. and M.A. degree from Marshall University. In addition to her very successful career as High School English teacher and librarian mostly at Greenbrier East High School, she lent her leadership abilities to the West Virginia Education Association. She enjoyed an active membership and service work as deacon at Clifton Presbyterian Church. In 1982, she married R. Houston Arbuckle and they shared a blessed life together for 33 years. Beverly was a strong, loving, and supportive mother to one child, daughter Emily A. Arbuckle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harper H. Galford.
She is survived by: her mother, Mary E. Galford; husband, R. Houston Arbuckle; daughter, Emily A. Arbuckle; aunt, Doris A. Dilley; close family member and friend, Carolyn W. Arbuckle; plus many other aunts, uncles and cousins. The many close friends who mourn her death include lifelong friends, Barbara Mills, Beverly Taylor, and Nancy Griffith.
All service arrangements were scheduled Wednesday, Mar. 11, at Clifton Presbyterian Church, Maxwelton. Visitation with family before the service; Worship at 11 a.m., where Pastor Janice Fraser and Rev. Everette “Hat” Defibaugh officiated, followed by interment in Clifton Cemetery and Fellowship in Clifton’s Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Clifton Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 200, Maxwelton, WV 24957 are welcomed and appreciated.
