According to the National Weather Service Prediction Center, the forecast for the Greenbrier Valley is anywhere from five to ten inches of snow, along with up to two tenths inch of ice. Significant amounts of snow and sleet are anticipated making travel dangerous. Residents are urged to only travel in an emergency, and to keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle. Locally higher snow and sleet amounts are anticipated in western Greenbrier County. Temperatures should be be significantly colder than average – anywhere from 10 to 30°F – across the region, but are expected to rise again over the weekend into the 40s.
