
Donald “Don” Dee Bridges, 74, of Alderson gained his wings and now walks with Jesus. He was born on Jan. 22, 1952 in Summers County, a son to the late William Drannon Bridges and Effie Isabelle (McBride) Bridges.
Don will be remembered for his devotion to God and his family. He was a devoted member of the River of Life Church of God and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He proudly retired after many years as a groundskeeper at the Greenbrier Sporting Club.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim Neice and her husband Rickie of Pearisburg, Va., Tracy Brown and her husband Travis of Queen Creek, Ariz., April Huffman and her husband Ronald of Creamery; and his faithful dog Dudley; his grandchildren, John, Courtney, and Billy Ferguson, Lauren Conaway, Edward Chance and his wife Maria, Holly Huffman and her companion Jen Grunska, Ariel Lester and her husband Tyler, Garrett and Cheyenne Huffman; his great-grandchildren, Lily Conaway, Brody Conaway, Hudson Lester (Mr. T); his bonus grandchildren, Kaylee Cruise, Ann Neice, Natalie Brown, Ethan and Summer Brown; his bonus great-grandchildren, Kayne and Kamaria Bessman, Isaiah, Erazah, Jeremiah, and Alizah Grunska; his sisters, Ann Mae Adkins, Pansy Bridges, Margaret Dean and his twin sister, Dottie Hunt, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Nancy Ellen Bridges, his brother John Bridges, his sister, Ella Jo Hill, Mary Copeland, and Kathleen Adkins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church of God in Alderson, with Pastor Anthony Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the C. H. Huffman Cemetery at Creamery, WV. Friends may call Friday, Aug. 14, 2026 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the River of Life Church of God, 485 Highland Trail, Alderson, WV 24910. All donations will support Samaritan’s Purse and its Operation Christmas Child shoebox program.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
