Mrs. Jacqueline Kent “Tinker” Loving (née Knighton), a cherished, lifelong resident of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026 at the age of 95. Born Jan. 29, 1931 to Archie Francis Knighton and Georgia Wylie Knighton in White Sulphur Springs, she dedicated her life to her family, community, and professional endeavors.

Jacqueline graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School in 1948 and began her career as a hotel desk clerk at the Alvon Hotel. After raising her children, she resumed her professional journey with roles that highlighted her commitment and skill. She worked for the city magistrate and later as manager of the Montgomery Ward catalog sales agency before joining the Bank of White Sulphur Springs later known as First Citizens Bank. Over an impressive 26-year tenure at the bank, Jacqueline advanced from bookkeeping to head of public relations and advertising, and ultimately to the executive position of Corporate Trust Officer. Her dedication earned her numerous certifications and national advertising awards.

In 1990, Jacqueline was honored to join a delegation of 22 American businesswomen on a People to People Organization mission to the USSR. This remarkable experience allowed her to exchange ideas with international colleagues and share her insights through presentations upon returning home.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband Floyd “Dink” Loving, her son Robert “Bobby” Loving, grandson Shadd Robert Loving, son-in-law Paul Todd Rankin, and brother Archie Frances Knighton, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Cindy (David) Clinebell, Leigh Ann Rankin, and Jill Loving; grandchildren Autumn Loving (Mark) Kirk, Adam Loving, Neil Clinebell, Jayme Clinebell (Tom) Brand, Kathryn Rankin (Kealan) O’Donnel, and Andrew Rankin; as well as great-grandchildren Sophia Vecchio and Corbin Rankin O’Donnel.

Visitation will be Aug. 1, 2026, 6 to 8 PM at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, 175 Mountain Avenue in White Sulphur Springs. A funeral service will be held on Aug. 2, at 2 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 201 West Main Street, White Sulphur Springs. Jacqueline will be laid to rest following the service at Little Creek Cemetery. Starting at 5 PM, please join the family for a Celebration of Tinker’s life at Max On Main, 789 Main Street East, White Sulphur Springs.
