Nannie Catherine Boggus

Nannie Catherine Boggus, 88, of Ansted passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Ansted Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Feb. 5, 1938 at Ansted; she was the daughter of the late John Smith and Jesse Wood Smith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Boggus and Jamie Boggus.

Nannie was a member of Lovers Leap Baptist Church of Ansted. She enjoyed sewing, having made many quilts and baby quilts.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years, James Boggus; daughter, Marie (James) Chaney of Danville, WV; two sons, Clem Hizer of Nashville, TN, and Harry (Marsha) Hizer of Foster, WV; a half-sister, Linda (Kenneth) Maynard of Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2026 at Lovers Leap Baptist Church, Ansted, with Pastor Milburn Pack officiating. Burial will follow in Westlake Cemetery, Ansted. Friends may gather with the family at the church from 12 noon until time of service.
