All area Catholic families are invited to join with the sponsoring Greenbrier Valley Council 8689 Knights of Columbus for the area Catholic family picnic at Shelter #1 in the picnic area of Greenbrier State Forest Sunday afternoon, July 19, beginning at 2 p.m.
The Knights will be providing all the paper products, eating utensils, cups, drinks, hamburgers/hot dogs and fixings. Those attending are asked to bring a food dish to share and table games for use in the afternoon.
“The GV K of C is the largest Catholic men’s organization in the Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Monroe and eastern Fayette counties and we invite practicing and non-practicing Catholics to join us for this annual event,” spokesman Mike Williams reports.
“We also have a few tickets to the GSF swimming pool for younger children.
The picnic will also feature a vesper service at around 4 p.m., lead by Father Jim Conyers, chaplain for Council 8689, along with other visiting priests from the area.
