ALDERSON, W.Va. — The town of Alderson goes all in for what many consider to be West Virginia’s BEST Fourth of July Celebration. This year is no exception with weekend festivities including a 5k, the famous Mr. Rexroad Contest, 4th of July car show, the Ducks on the Greenbrier Rubber Duck Race, an ice cream social, craft and food vendors, field events, inflatables, and entertainment throughout the celebration.

Of course, the festivities would not be complete without the iconic Grand Parade and the dazzling Grand Fireworks Display. This year, Alderson invites residents and visitors alike to join in celebrating 250 Years of Celebrating Independence.

Celebration Highlights:

The Weekend Excitement (Friday, July 3): Lace up for the Run for Snacks 5K or join “The Hunt”—a massive 3-day scavenger hunt featuring $2,000 in prizes. Friday night heats up at the football field with kid-friendly inflatables and 80’s music from Rewind the Walkman ($5 admission, children 10 and under are free).

The Big Day (Saturday, July 4): Don’t miss the historic 2026 Grand Parade at 10:30 a.m., showcasing stunning floats, fire engines, and horses. The afternoon features a Car Show, an Ice Cream Social and Open Mic Night at the historic 1896 Train Depot, and field events for all ages.

Fireworks Spectacular (Saturday Night): Caps off the 4th with live music from Tupelo Drive, the introduction of Miss Fireworks 2026 (Brooke Patterson), and a Grand Fireworks Display. Admission to the field for the evening entertainment and fireworks is $5 (children 10 and under are free).

Grand Finale (Sunday, July 5): Head to the Alderson Mini Park for the famous River Events—featuring “anything that floats” races—and the thrilling “Ducks on the Greenbrier” Rubber Duck Race, where one lucky winner will take home a $5,000 cash grand prize! Cap off the weekend with a free community Gospel Sing at the football field.

Featured Entertainment:

Friday, July 4 | 8:00–10:00 p.m. | Rewind the Walkman

Rewind the Walkman is a dynamic and energetic band that takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through the iconic sounds of the 80s and 90s. With their passion for delivering high-octane cover music, Rewind the Walkman has become a name that music lovers of all generations recognize and love.

Drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Bryan Adams, Def Leppard, Phil Collins, George Michael, and Peter Gabriel, Rewind the Walkman has developed a signature style that pays homage to the timeless classics while infusing their own unique energy. Their renditions are characterized by infectious melodies, powerful vocals, and electric guitar solos that transport listeners back to the golden era of music.

Saturday, July 4 | 7:45–9:45 p.m. | Tupelo Drive

Tupelo Drive is shaking up the West Virginia music scene with a gritty mix of country, blues and rock that hits straight from the gut. Hailing from the back roads of Greenbrier and Monroe counties, the band has already carved out a name for themselves, opening for heavy-hitters like Charles Wesley Godwin, Dylan Marlowe, Austin Snell and others.

Now teaming up with Indigo Bunting Records and Grammy-nominated producer Duane Lundy, Tupelo Drive is preparing to release their self-titled debut album — a raw, no-frills take on real life, heartbreak and good times. Every track carries the dust, drive and soul of the hills they call home.

Sunday, July 5 | 6–9 p.m. | The Gospel Sing

The Gospel Sing features two uplifting gospel acts known for their heartfelt delivery and strong faith-centered messages.

The Waymarks are recognized for their rich harmonies and traditional Southern Gospel sound. Their music blends powerful vocals with meaningful lyrics that reflect faith, hope, and encouragement. With a heartfelt stage presence and a passion for ministry through song, they share timeless gospel favorites as well as inspiring selections that resonate with audiences of all ages.

Also featured are Juanita Phillips and Corey Clark, a dynamic duo whose voices complement each other beautifully. Their performances focus on spirit-filled worship and sincere expression, delivering songs that speak to perseverance, grace, and devotion. Together, they bring an authentic and moving gospel experience through their music.
