Carnegie Hall kicks off 2026 Ivy Terrace Concert Series celebrating America250

Strings of Green

The Carnegie Hall 2026 Ivy Terrace Outdoor Music Series continues with Strings of Green on Thursday, July 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A cherished Lewisburg summer tradition, Ivy Terrace brings friends, families, and neighbors together for free live music on the expansive green in front of New River Community and Technical College. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, pack a picnic, and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly evening.

All Ivy Terrace concerts are free, alcohol-free, generously sponsored by City National Bank, and will move indoors in the event of inclement weather. Attendees are encouraged to follow Carnegie Hall’s Facebook page for updates.

Strings of Green arrives as one of bluegrass music’s most exciting young acts, rooted in the remarkable musicality of the Green family from Beckley, West Virginia. What began as a simple act of service – providing hymns and worship music for a small church congregation – has grown into a nationally recognized ensemble defined by authentic family harmony and extraordinary instrumental skill. In January 2026, the group made history by winning the SPBGMA International Band Championship in Nashville, an achievement made even more impressive by the fact that two members were still preteens at the time.

Led by two-time National Bluegrass Banjo Champion Brandon Green, the band features a lineup of prodigious young talent. Eighteen-year-old Josiah Green anchors the group on rhythm guitar and contributes original compositions that blend seamlessly with the band’s traditional roots. Twelve-year-old Ezekiel Green, already a Vandalia Gathering mandolin champion, brings crisp, expressive mandolin work, while eleven-year-old Ezra Green holds down the bass with confidence and drive. Younger siblings Malachi and Moriah are already learning guitar, dobro, and fiddle, ensuring the family’s musical legacy continues to grow.

Strings of Green performs throughout West Virginia and beyond, sharing bluegrass standards, hymns, and original works with heart, precision, and the unmistakable chemistry that only a family band can create. Their Ivy Terrace debut promises an evening of uplifting, high-energy music that showcases both their deep roots and their bright future.
