Arnold Howard Cook, 65, of White Sulphur Springs, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2026. He was born on Jan. 24, 1961, in Sandstone, WV, to the late Howard Cook and Annie Mae (Bryant) Cook. He will be remembered for his hard work, practical skills, and quiet appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Arnold was always ready to help, solve a problem, or get something working again. He was especially skilled with mechanical repairs and had a particular talent for working on cars. Whether fixing things around the house or tackling projects that required patience and know-how, he worked with determination and a steady spirit. Those who knew him valued both his skill and his dependable, helpful nature.

Throughout his working life, Arnold was employed at The Greenbrier Hotel in the Storage Department and also at The Homestead as a short order cook. In both places, he was known for his work ethic and his willingness to do what needed to be done. He carried himself with quiet dignity and took pride in earning his way through honest labor. His co-workers and acquaintances will remember him as someone who understood the value of responsibility and who contributed faithfully wherever he was needed.

Arnold enjoyed spending time outdoors and found peace in fishing and hiking. He liked being outside, where he could enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of nature. He also enjoyed playing video games, which gave him another way to relax and pass the time. One of his favorite pastimes was landscaping his yard, and he took satisfaction in making his surroundings neat and cared for. These interests reflected the practical and thoughtful way he lived his life, finding contentment in activities that were both useful and enjoyable.

He is survived by his brother, Vernon Jay Cook and his wife Mary of Blue Sulphur Springs; his four sisters, Dorothy Van Hoye and her husband Bill of White Sulphur Springs, Wilma Van Hoye of Alderson, Sarah Cook of White Sulphur Springs, and Anita Jones of Tylertown, Mississippi, and 11 loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will remember him with love and respect. The bonds he shared with his family were an important part of his life, and his presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him best.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Randy Lee Bryant.

In accordance with his wishes, Arnold will be cremated, and Lobban Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the Cook family at www.lobbanfh.com
