Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) is inviting young performers to step into a world of imagination, creativity, and storytelling this summer with its 2026 Summer Drama Camp program. Designed for students from rising kindergarten through 10th grade, the camps offer hands-on theatre experiences led by professional teaching artists in a fun and supportive environment.
Continuing a long-standing tradition of youth arts education in the Greenbrier Valley, this year’s camps are inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland and feature three unique sessions focused on acting, play-writing, music, and creative exploration.
“It’s always a blast to see how much fun the campers have during camp each summer”, says Dorothy Jo Oberfoell, Education Director.“From meeting new friends, trying new things, and getting to perform on the GVT stage, it’s great to see how much their creativity and confidence grows! We hope that you will join us down the rabbit hole this summer!”
The 2026 camp lineup includes:
Playwriting Camp – July 27-August 1
Open to rising 3rd-10th graders, this week-long camp gives students the opportunity to create original Wonderland-inspired plays while learning storytelling, play-writing, and acting techniques.
Musical Theatre Camp – August 3-8
Rising 3rd-10th graders will sing, dance, and act their way through a magical theatrical experience while building musical theatre skills and confidence on stage.
Rising Stars Camp – August 10-12
Designed for rising K-2nd graders, this introductory theatre camp encourages imaginative play, storytelling, and creative expression for the youngest performers.
Each session concludes with a showcase performance for family and friends, allowing campers to celebrate their creativity and hard work on the stage.
The registration deadline for all camps is July 13 at 5 p.m. EST. Full and partial scholarships are available.
