Pearlie Jane McCoy, 85, of Frankford, WV passed away on Saturday, May 9th at CAMC GVMC.

Born Oct. 23, 1940, in Pocahontas County, she was the daughter of the late Biddie and Joe Blankenship.

She retired from the Kellwood Company in Maxwelton, WV at its closure and from The West Virginia Daily News. She had a love of word search puzzles, flowers and lottery tickets. You would often find her in the garden working on growing the best tomatoes, at Walmart looking for the newest Pioneer Woman item, or figuring out the answer to the Wheel of Fortune puzzles. She spent several Saturdays with her grandchildren hunting down the best deals at the local yard sales and flea market. She took much pride in her home being the talk of the neighborhood with its many holiday decorations. But above all, she loved her family dearly.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Chester R. McCoy of Frankford, WV; two sons, David W. McCoy (Melissa) of Frankford, WV and Kenneth “Kenny” E. McCoy Sr (Brenda) of Maxwelton, WV; four grandchildren, Dr. Cassandra “Cassy” Marie McCoy, Alisha Lee Ann Kidd (David), Danielle “Pain” Jane McClung (Josh) and Kenneth “Ken Ken” Eugene McCoy, Jr (Beth); six great-grandchildren, Annabella Holliday, Bentley Mines, Mason McCoy, Clayton Honaker, Holdyn McCoy and Lakeleigh McCoy; one sister, Nellie Bragg and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Howard Blankenship and Gilbert Blankenship; sisters Ada Blankenship, Edith Hammons, Merley Burks, Shirley Eagle, Judy Simmons and Mildred “Midge” Simmons.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Lewisburg Healthcare Center and CAMC GVMC for their care and kindness.

Pallbearers include Kenneth Eugene McCoy Jr, David Kidd, Josh McClung, Donnie Faulkner, Earl Jackson and Jamie Yates. Honorary pallbearers include Bentley Mines, Mason McCoy, Clayton Honaker and Holdyn McCoy.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, May 14, at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Everett “Hat” Defibaugh officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, May 13, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Renick, WV.

Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
