The Primary Election, held on May 12, saw an overall statewide voter turnout of 250,755 registered voters who cast ballots for the election, or 21% voter participation. That includes 67,361 who voted early in-person from April 29 to May 9, as well as 3,533 voters who participated by absentee ballot prior to Election Day.
In Greenbrier County, there were 5,497 ballots cast with 3,267 being Republican, 1,918 democratic, and 312 nonpartisan. This is a 23.10% voter turnout overall of registered voters in Greenbrier County, higher than the state average.
Republican primary results:
• U.S. Senator: Shelley Moore Capito (incumbent) defeated Tom Willis, Bryan McKinney, David Purkey, Alexander Gaaserud, and Janet McNulty.
• U.S. House, 1st District: Carol Miller (incumbent) defeated Larry Jackson
• State Senator, 10th District: Vince Deeds (incumbent) defeated Jonathan Comer with 66.56% of the vote.
• House of Delegates, 46th District: Jeff Campbell (incumbent) defeated Mark Alan Robinson with over 75% of the vote.

• House of Delegates, 47th District: Denny Ray Canterbury, Jr. (incumbent) defeated Mary Catherine Tuckwiller with 68.7% of the vote.
• House of Delegates, 48th District: Mackenzie Holdren defeated Greg Watt.
• County Commissioner, unexpired term: Matt Ford defeated Bill Bell
• County Commissioner: Lowell Rose (incumbent, unopposed)
Democratic primary results:
• U.S. Senator: Rachel Fetty Anderson defeated Jeffrey Kessler, Zachary Shrewsberry, Rio Phillips, and Thornton Cooper.
• U.S. House, 1st District: Britta “Brit” Aguirre defeated Vince George.
• State Senator, 10th District: Kent Gilkerson (unopposed)
• House of Delegates, 46th District: Sarah Umberger (unopposed)
• House of Delegates, 47th District: Sarah Morris defeated Mark Phipps Jr.
• House of Delegates, 48th District: Jourdan Deitz (unopposed)

• County Commissioner: No Democratic candidates filed
Non-Partisan races:
• Magistrate, Division 1: Shana Hamrick (unopposed)
• Board of Education of Greenbrier County (three winners): Incumbents Jeanie Porterfield Wyatt, Paula Sanford-Dunford, and Andrew Utterback all earned spots on the BOE, defeating Nicole Ramsey.
• Conservation District Supervisor: Gary Truex (unopposed)
• Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals, Division 1: H.L. “Kirk” Kirkpatrick defeated Todd Kirby, Gerald Titus (incumbent), Laura Faircloth, and Martin Sheehan.
• Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals, Division 2: Bill Flanigan defeated Tom Ewing (incumbent)
• Judge of the Intermediate Court of Appeals: Jim Douglas defeated Dan Greear (incumbent).
