Brad Porcella; 86, passed peacefully on Wednesday, Apr. 22, 2026. Born in Tucson, Arizona, he was the son of Leo and Ina Porcella. His family called Renick, WV home where he graduated High School in 1957. He enlisted in the Coast Guard as a Radioman and was honorably discharged in 1961. He attended Concord College where he met the love of his life, Mary Ellen Marty (61 years of marriage). “I am the luckiest man on Earth” he would say frequently at family gatherings.

In 1968, Brad and Mary Ellen settled in Barberton, Ohio where they began their family of five children. He was employed with Allstate Insurance for 43 years. He was actively involved in Barberton programs and events including Kiwanis and Jaycees, and was Chairman of the Cherry Blossom Festival for many years including spearheading the bicentennial celebration in 1976. He was a well known amateur billiards competitor, historian of the game, and collector. He was a generous and compassionate person to those in need.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Lee, and parents, Leo and Ina Porcella. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen, children: Melanie (Steve), Melissa, Amy (John), Brad (Heather) and Stefanie (Matt), grandchildren; Kennedy, Daniel, Reagan (Tate), Evan, Ella, Anna, Grace, Isabelle, Audrey, Maya, Sophia, Lily, Sina, Clare, Olivia, Leo and one great-grandchild Maisie; his brother John (Pam), numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on May 2, at 2 p.m. at the Morningside Cemetery in Renick, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org), The American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/), or the charity of your choice.
