Creekside Foundry, a new “makers space” located in downtown White Sulphur Springs, will be holding their grand opening on Friday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Located at 750 Main Street East, Creekside Foundry is a nonprofit with a goal of having a space for creatives to come and design, prototype, manufacture, and display works that would be difficult to generate with the resources available to individual inventors, tinkerers, craftspeople, nerds, and artists working alone.
Currently, they offer space for ceramics, textiles and sewing, 3D printing, and fine art, with plans to host woodworking and a metal shop. “Individuals may already possess expertise in crafts, trades, tech, and art. Creekside Foundry is a place to grow those skills, share them with new generations, collaborate, and simply explore, converting today’s and tomorrow’s know-how into inventions, livelihoods, businesses, and purpose,” states their website.
For the grand opening, the public is invited to come tour the building, sign up for classes, and learn about the benefits of being a Creekside Foundry member. To become a member, simply attend the open house to sign up, swing by during normal business hours, or visit www.creeksidefoundry.com/schedule to sign up for a free visit. Memberships cost $20 per month and provide access to all spaces, equipment, inventory, introductory classes, and events.
Creekside Foundry is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visit www.creeksidefoundry.com or call 304-660-3509 for more information.
