Greenbrier Valley Theatre is excited to begin the 2026 main stage season with the presentation of Ripcord, a comedy pay by David Lindsay-Abaire. Show dates begin May 8 and run through May 23.
The story follows Abby, a sharp-tongued, no-nonsense woman who prefers solitude, and Marilyn, an upbeat, relentlessly cheerful roommate who quickly gets on Abby’s nerves. When Abby insists on having the room to herself, the two strike a wager: if Marilyn can make Abby genuinely laugh, Abby will move out; if Abby can make Marilyn angry, Marilyn will leave instead.
In this sharp-witted comedy, what begins as a passive-aggressive battle of wills soon escalates into a no-holds-barred prank war. Ripcord is a heartfelt and hilarious story about second chances, unlikely friendships, and the surprises that come with growing older.
Evening and matinee performances are available during the show schedule.
Also, the 2026 Al Jeter Concert Series begins this week with a performance by the Decades Band on Apr. 24 at 7 p.m. Get ready for an unforgettable night as West Virginia’s own high-energy cover band, takes the stage! Known for their electrifying performances and genre-spanning setlists, Decades brings the hits you love – from the disco anthems of the ‘70s to the pop and rock classics of the 2000s and beyond.
Tickets for both shows are available at gvtheatre.org, at the box office or by calling 304-645-3838.
