State Treasurer Larry Pack announced the winning bid amount from the February online firearms auction was $82,299.10 placed from a federal firearm licensed dealer in Georgia. This was the Office’s first online firearms auction held in 2026, and sixth overall online firearms auction since last year.

More than 18 bids were submitted from licensed dealers spanning across 10 states. There were 527 firearms sold from 19 law enforcement agencies across West Virginia that were up for bid.

“This auction was a success in terms of participation both from law enforcement and firearm dealers placing bids, as well as the value we received that will go back to those agencies,” Treasurer Pack said. “My Office is thrilled to return this money to 19 law enforcement agencies across the state. Safer communities are crucial to a better West Virginia. That is why we must do everything in our power to support these departments.”

The following agencies participated in the February online firearms auction: Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, Doddridge County Sheriff’s Office, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, Roane County Sheriff’s Office, Cabell County Sheriff’s Office, Parkersburg Police Department, Spencer Police Department, Mount Hope Police Department, Clarksburg Police Department, Beckley Police Department, WV Division of Natural Resources Police – Parkersburg and Alum Creek Detachments, and the WV State Police – Madison, Sutton, Weston, Charles Town, Huntington Detachments.

Last year, the Treasurer’s Office sold 2,347 firearms for a total of $452,073 from one in-person live auction and five online auctions.
