Allen Brown Shafer, 73 of Lewisburg, WV passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 at his home. Born Aug. 2, 1952 in Maxwelton, WV he was the son of the late Austin Brown Shafer and Brownie Grey Fogus Shafer. He graduated from Greenbrier East and attended Marshall University. Allen retired from CSX Transportation. He and his late wife, Julia Cline Simmons Shafer loved to travel and compete in barrel racing.
Survivors include a sister, Brenda Barry (John), niece, Whitney Barry, great niece, Sullivan Barry and great nephew, Shafer Barry, many friends and his cat, Rocky.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19, at Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation be made to the Greenbrier Humane Society, 151 Holliday Lane, Lewisburg, WV 24901 or online at https://greenbrierhumane.com/donate/.
