Ann Virginia Gieseke passed away peacefully on Feb. 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Sept. 12, 1946, in Salisbury, MD, Ann was the daughter of Geraldine and Levin Stanley Dashiell. She shared a lifelong and treasured bond with her twin sister, Charlotte Ethel Baldwin, a relationship that remained one of the greatest constants in her life.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Gieseke. Together they built a life rooted in love, dedication, and family. Their greatest blessing was their daughter, Kristin Ann Allen.

Ann devoted more than 20 years of her life to serving as an educator in Fairfax County, VA. Teaching was more than a profession to her; it was her calling. She believed deeply in the power of education and invested herself fully in her students, encouraging them to reach higher and believe in their potential.

Beyond the classroom, Ann lived a life of service. She enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in South Charleston, WV. Her faith and commitment to helping others shaped the way she lived and the example she set for her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Ann Allen, and son-in-law, Shawn Allen; and her cherished granddaughter, Taylor Dashiell Allen, who brought her immense pride and joy.

She is also survived by her twin sister, Charlotte Ethel Baldwin; her nephews, Chuck Baldwin (Kim), Matt Baldwin, Charlie, Simon, Gavin, and Spencer; her niece, Paisley; and Susan Baldwin, former spouse of Chuck Baldwin.

Ann will be remembered for her strength, her steady presence, her servant’s heart, and her unwavering devotion to family. Her legacy lives on through the generations that follow her and through the countless students and lives she helped shape.

A private family memorial will be held in the Spring of 2026.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia, honoring her lifelong commitment to education, children, and care for families in need.
