The 4th Avenue Gallery of Fine Arts and Crafts, located at the Marlinton Depot on 4th Avenue in Marlinton, welcomes new home owners and folks who may redecorate their homes, condos or apartments to a New Year / New Look event on Friday, Jan. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Artisans will be on hand to answer questions and provide information for interested parties who wish to include beautiful local art from Pocahontas County and the surrounding areas into their home’s décor.
Pocahontas Artisans, Inc. will sponsor the event featuring an ice sculpting demonstration, hot and cold refreshments, and a soup bar to promote the members of the Pocahontas County Artisan Co-op.
Local art makes a wonderful housewarming gift and turns a house into a home. The nonprofit organization’s President, Dawn Baldwin Barrett, stated, “This is a wonderful opportunity for new homeowners or those looking to spruce-up their residence for the new year to meet local artisans and to acquire that one-of-a-kind piece of artwork that makes a home truly yours.”
“A home filled with local art just feels like it belongs here,” Barrett said.
The Open House will take place at the Marlinton Depot on 4th Avenue in Marlinton. Public parking is available. Directions and further information can be found by following Pocahontas County Artisan Co-op on Facebook or calling 304-799-2550.
The Pocahontas County Artisan Co-op was founded in 2007 by local artisans. The nonprofit organization promotes local artisans, sponsors art related events, and assists art-based small businesses.
