Two extraordinary pianists join forces to awe and entertain audience members
The Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT), 1038 Washington Street East, will present 176 Keys on Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
176 Keys will be a rollicking show with two dudes who love playing piano. You can expect singing, banter, heartfelt stories, and requests of your favorite tunes. Come ready to sing along, clap along, and escape to the past with your favorite oldies.
Patrick Summers has been playing piano since he was 12 and has always been a huge fan of jazz and rock. He has been a part of many bands ranging from Rockabilly to Funk, Swing to Pop and has enjoyed it all. His favorite music includes film scores, jazz for rainy days, and musical theater. He currently teaches piano and other classes at Washington and Lee University.
John Maddy has been playing the piano for most of his life. After earning his master’s degree in piano performance from West Virginia University, he has since been playing as a solo pianist and as a member of various bands playing all genres of music from Jazz/Fusion, Country, 80’s Hair Metal to Opera and Chamber Music. He loves all styles of music, and is an active arranger and composer. Currently, he plays with the WV Jazz Orchestra, performs at The Greenbrier Resort, and loves rocking out with the locally popular bands Big Shots! (A Billy Joel Tribute band) and Decades.
“176 Keys will be the kind of fun and interactive show that represents the Al Jeter Series, bringing a variety of music and entertainers to GVT and this community,” states Paul Stacnato, Producing Artistic Director.
General Admission tickets are $25 and are available at gvtheatre.org or at the box office.
