Mount Vernon United Methodist Church
will have a Pie and Ice Cream Supper Saturday, Sept. 12. The church is located between Fort Spring and Sinks Grove on Mt. Vernon Road. The menu will consist of pork barbecue, hot dogs, various side dishes and several types of desserts including pie and ice cream. Proceeds will be used for the church ministries.

New River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
service Sunday, Sept. 13 will begin at 11 a.m. Visitors are welcome to attend. The Fellowship is located at 911 South Kanawha Street, Beckley.

Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church
will dedicate their new worship center during the 10:45 a.m. Worship service Sunday, Sept. 13 with a reception to follow. The Church’s new home is at 103 Railroad Avenue in historic downtown Alderson. The community is invited to the dedication and/or the following reception from 12 noon until 2 p.m., light refreshments will be served. Community Pentecostal Holiness Church
on Brush Road in Lewisburg will have their Annual Homecoming Service Sunday, Sept. 13. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. and Morning Worship will begin at 11 a.m. Rev. Don Trent from Second Creek will be the guest speaker. Singers from their Church will also be ministering in song. There will be a covered dish meal following the service. Pastor Everette Defibaugh and the congregation extend an invitation to everyone. There will be no night service.

Greenbrier Christian Retreat
Great things are happening in Crawley on Little Clear Creek. Come be a part of Greenbrier Christian Retreat in its infancy (under construction). Open House Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. Devotional by Pastor Scott Pauley. Prayer of Dedication by Pastor Jonathan Comer. Hot dogs – hamburgers – cold drinks. Shuttle vans available at 1:30 and 2 p.m. from Lewisburg Baptist Church (246 Grand Avenue, Lewisburg) to the retreat. Friends and family are welcome. For those wishing to drive: take I-64 west from Lewisburg to exit 156 (Sam Black Church) and go towards Rupert. Drive approximately 3 miles through Crawley and turn right at Glenco Lane, before Little Clear Creek bridge. Follow the signs to the retreat. There is limited on-site parking. Mission Statement: To advance eternity by assisting communities, churches and families to know, love and follow Jesus Christ.

Greenbrier Valley Aglow Community Lighthouse
will hold its monthly meeting Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at Living Waters Family Worship Center on Montvue Drive (formerly Calvary Baptist). Our guest speaker will be Reverend Aaron Trigg who is the pastor at Orient Hill Baptist Church. Aaron resides in Rainelle with his lovely wife Diana and their dog Tonka. Pence Springs Community Church
will hold Fall Revival Services Oct. 4 through Oct. 7, beginning at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Robbie Merritt. Pastor Roger Persinger and the congregation invite everyone to attend.
