Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) is thrilled to present the next installment in the popular Al Jeter Concert Series on Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy an unforgettable evening of timeless jazz as The Vince Lewis Trio takes the stage with acclaimed vocalist Maddy Winer. This special performance will feature beloved classics from The Great American Songbook – echoing the golden voices of Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, and Frank Sinatra.

The trio includes jazz guitarist Vince Lewis, bassist Karl Kimmel – longtime co-leader of The Homestead Resort’s house band – and drummer Bill Purcell, a familiar name from his years with The Populaires at The Greenbrier’s Old White Club.

“The music we will be performing will be largely from The Great American Songbook and jazz standards that are timeless classics the audience will recognize,” says Lewis. “These tunes always evoke memories for our listeners from times in their lives that are true treasures.”

Maddy Winer’s smooth, expressive vocals have graced jazz festivals alongside Lewis since 2002. “Maddy and I have enjoyed a wonderful personal and professional relationship since we first met and appeared together at the Highlands Jazz Festival in 2002,” says Lewis. “It is so im-portant for audiences to hear the lyrics to truly connect with the meaning of the tunes we play and Maddy interprets and expresses the composers intent perfectly.  That is what makes working with her a true joy.”

“We especially enjoy performing for this audience as they really listen and enjoy classic gems from the Great American Songbook, as much as we enjoy performing them,” says Winer. “Vince’s tremendous expertise on his instrument and our mutual respect for the songs we are playing and their composers are two reasons we love performing together. Vince is a rare gem in the music industry and I’m honored not only to hear him but to perform with him!”
