Subject: Editor- thank you for article
Dear Editor,
Thank you so much for printing the article about Friends for
Life this past Saturday, December 29th. I was excited to see that
it was on the front page! We've already gotten a call from someone
wanting to donate, and another call from a potential dog walker. The
most exciting result was that a Beckley tv station called after seeing the
article and did an interview yesterday (Jan. 1), and it aired last night at 6
pm. We don't get the station, but I heard it was pretty good. If
the article hadn't been on the front page, they may not have thought it would
be newsworthy.
I appreciate any help we can get to try to get more people
interested in our animals at Friends for Life and in the organization
itself. I have a big dream that will take more than a few people to
accomplish! Thanks for your help!
Sincerely,
Donna Jo Hinkle

of the web. Your site is one of the best I have seen, and since I also
maintain one, I know how hard it can be. Our families from all states
are able to go to MM and read the news, obits, etc, when other papers in
the WV area are inaccessible. Thank you for the good work!

While I live in the area, I never find time to read the paper. So I enjoy your
synopsis online. Once I got used to the fact you only update once a week,
I got over the frustration of it appearing to always be the "same old news."
It appears this happens on Tuesday morning sometime. I'm not much for sound
on my computer and the constant audio beeps and alerts, so I have my
sound turned off unless specifically downloading music I wish to hear.
While I think this offers a solution for the "complaints" that were posted
from others on your feedback website, I do still have a question. Why
is it sometimes the obituaries get updated with your weekly web posting
and sometimes they do not? Enjoy your site, either way.
Thanks,
Lori Turner

I was raised in Fayette County and now live out of
state. One of my hobbies is genealogy so each trip home to the mountains
of West Virginia I try to visit the Courthouses and some of the cemeteries of
Fayette, Nicholas and Greenbrier counties to gather data on past family
members. Your paper's obituary column is a wonderful on-going, weekly resource
for me. I was wondering if you have the obituaries achieved online. If so, how
can I access them?
Also, I wanted to tell you what a wonderful layout
you have on your website. Very professional - one of the best looking that I
have seen and very user friendly. Keep up the great work.

My name is Eddie Teems, I had the pleasure of staying in Lewisburg on
Feb,13. I stayed at the Brier Inn, as I left your city on Thursday the 14th I drove on to hwy 219
north. I went about 100 yards when a police officer pulled me over, for
speeding. I stopped and was informed that I was doing 46 mph in a 35 zone, which I
disagree. The officer wanted to be a nice guy, I guess and wrote me a citation for
not using my seat belt, which I was. I stayed at a local motel, bought
gasoline at the local Exxon, shopped at the Wal mart, ate at Hardee's and paid
taxes on each of these transactions, but that was not enough. I now have to pay 25.00,
for nothing more than being there. The officer is John W. something,
citation number 15500. I will send the 25.00, but I feel that is unjust
to be forced to pay black mail to a local government. The officer said the speeding fine
was over 100.00, and I had a choice, of speeding or seat belt citation.

about having your main articles on the front below your logo/ heading and

Enjoyed visiting your site. It is the best site for Greenbrier
County that
I have found on the net. It is great to have a source of info
for us
Greenbrier County folks living out of state. My aunt used to
mail your
papers to me while I was stationed overseas in the service and
now with your
site, we can save the postage!

Living here in Oak Island, NC but hope to "retire" to good ole
West
Virginia.

Delightful ezine. Like the music, photos, news. I'm from WSS, and miss the place dearly since I've lived in
Cincinnati for the past 12 years with my wife and 3 children. My family is still there. Christian Giggenbach is on
WSS city council, Fred Giggenbach is an attorney with the Prosecutors department, and my sister Betsy
Giggenbach Squires is a prosecting attorney as well. My other brother Bader Giggenbach is an attorney in
Morgantown (he's married to Melissa - also an attorney). I'm a Psychiatrist longing for the hills.

Keep up the nice site, add more pictures, I miss home.

I am wondering how an opinion piece by an obviously biased writer appears on the front page of the paper. I refer to the
article about education by the president of the Wva. Board of Eduction.

I looked at the article and did not see anywhere that it is an editorial comment or opinion. The average person would take
this to be absolute truth, such as an objective news report should be.

The very obvious answer to the piece is this; Does anyone seriously think that our education system is producing a top
quality product? If the gentleman truly thinks our government schools are so competitive then I would expect his group to
endorse all forms of school choice. Let the competition begin and with it meaningful evaluation of teachers and schools
productivity. For the students sake..

I can't believe that I have been on the internet this long and have not visited your website. I was raised in White Sulphur Springs and after a long stay in Morgantown
I am happy to make Greenbrier County my home. I am currently serving on City Council in White Sulphur Springs. I love the Dueling Banjo's and the Steel
Pterodactyl songs you have in the background. Keep up the the good work, and may God bless Greenbrier County!

Ron and I are native West Virginians, born, raised and college educated in W. Va, now living in upstate New York. I just heard at a storytelling seminar
about the threat to our mountains in W. Va. Where have I been? I had no idea.
It isn't highly publicized outside the state. But now we know and we want to
join in the fight to save the mountains. We both have family roots in coal
mining but more we have roots to the mountains that are West Virginia to us
and to our children. We are interested in subscribing to the paper and to
participating in this cause.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

PS. Love the accompanying music to this webpage. How appropriate!

online newspaper and noticed WV Links which led me to your paper. My family
has spent many vacations and weekends st Greenbrier State Forest so I have
always loved your neck of the woods. I can't begin to tell you how much I
enjoyed reading your paper AND the background music. I miss the
naturalness
of the people and the natural beauty of my homestate. I have traveled a
good
deal but nowhere can compare to "back home". Thanks for a very enjoyable

I am a native of the New River Valley and miss those beautiful springs of West Virginia. Living in northern New Hampshire, getting back to my roots is very
infrequent. Northern New England does not have spring and nothing compares to the Dogwoods in bloom. Keep up the good work, you are appreciated!

Your newspaper is a great way for those of us who grew up in the
great Greebrier Valley to keep in touch with our roots. I was wondering if
you had any news or information on a reunion for the first (AND BEST) class
to ever graduate from Greenbrier East . I am
referring, of course, to the class of 1969.

My parents receive your newspaper and pass it on to me and my husband to
