Fifteen years of service

It was begun Mar. 10, 1985 in an effort to improve the quality of news coverage in the Greenbrier Valley. Few newspaper start-ups survive even their first year. When I came home to my native Greenbrier County in 1993, the paper was already eight-years-old. We the companiies name is now Mountain Media, LLC. We print several publications, including the Greenbrier Valley Advertiser, the Appalachian Journal, Real Estate Review, Body Mind & Spirit, mountain messenger.com, our West Virginia State Fair tabloid and over a dozen special sections annually. We have 15 employees and over a dozen contractors. In 2005 we purchased the Masonic Temple building where we had rented space for over 15 years. Our offices are located in the renovated lower level of this grand old building on Court Street, one block from the Court House. We are constantly innovating and have many plans for the future. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community that has always been immensely close to my heart. I am grateful that the community has accepted what we are doing and has found value in it. This paper is a community paper. It relies tremendously on the people, organizations and businesses of the Greenbrier Valley communities to supply the information which we print each week. In a real sense, it is written by the community. It is these people, and our employees, some of whom have been here from the beginning, who have made the paper successful. As always, we welcome your input and suggestions. We encourage you to take advantage of your community newspaper and allow it to publish information important to you to share with your neighbors.
